Born and brought up in a poverty-stricken family of Kargil district of Ladakh, Husain completed his schooling from an ordinary government school. After the completion of his primary education, he decided to join a local restaurant as a delivery boy to support the financial condition of his family. Simultaneously, he pursued his higher education.

Husain struggled immensely since his childhood because of which he resolved to do something new. He wanted that anyone from his district could raise their voice and take it to a large number of people. Initially, he along his friend, launched a YouTube channel and started posting stories from the district.

Since he opened this channel, Kargil underwent a lot of changes. The locals have found a new confidence and now anyone can approach him with his problems. Local residents praised the efforts of Husain for what they call ‘pioneering the TV channel’ in the area despite difficulties.
Presently, Kargil Today is considered as the voice of the people of Kargil district. It covers news and current affair along with programmes highlighting the cultural, religious and traditional aspects of Kargil.
