Newly-launched Google Allo, the multi-billion dollar company, is all set to kill the popular messaging apps like Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger and Apple iMessage. The smartest feature of this app – it acts as user’s personal virtual assistant but it is no ordinary deal. Based on Google’s machine learning software, it picks up how its users communicate and generates the most appropriate user’s personalised style.
The app, which is available for iOS and Android users, was announced at Google I/O on May 18, 2016 and was launched yesterday. It has a lot of unique features which we have collaborated after using Allo.
- Your Personal Assistant
The assistant helps you with your queries within a fraction of second. In this feature, you can ask questions and let Allo reply you in form of chats. The personal assistant also takes thumbs-up and thumbs-down as feedback.
- Automatic Responses With Smart Reply
Smart Reply learns over time and suggests responses to text and photos, in your style, be it casual or formal. A list of suggested, one-touch messages pops up are placed on the bottom of the screen making the conversation (with a friend or Google PA) quicker and effective.
- Incognito Chatting Mode
This feature is very useful for those who’re serious about their privacy and security. When you turn on this feature then your message or your history will not saved in your database and will be destroyed after the time expires. User can also set a time limit for the deletion of chats, ranging from 5 seconds to 7 days max.
- Face Detection and Voice Typing
Allo also draws on Google’s image recognition software for Smart Reply, that will easily detect the famous faces. Voice typing is another cool feature through which one can type their messages without touching screen. Simply speak what you want to write and the app automatically types and sends it.
Image Illustration and Different Sized Messages
Using this feature, one can send larger and smaller versions of text messages, and custom-designed stickers.
